The Inder Mohan Thapar Scholarship & Research Award provides scholarships to students and mentors conducting cutting-edge research across various STEM subjects. The IMT Scholarship and Research Awards were established in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology-Indian School of Mines (IIT-ISM) in 2017.

Every year six awards are conferred on Students and Mentors who are dedicating all of their efforts towards research that can some pertinent real-world problems using science and technology.

 

Thus far Prof. Aditya Kumar, Ms Kalpita Nath & Ms Poonam Chauhan of the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad have been conferred with a one-time IMTF Award for their research work in ‘Silver nanoparticles based super-hydrophobic anti-viral coating on cloth’.

This technology can make fabric superhydrophobic, making it safe against a whole host of microorganisms, including the Corona Virus.
